Fallout 4 has come a long way since its release back in November 2015. It still has a huge player base, and always will have just like Skyrim. What keeps Bethesda’s games so alive and giving them a lot of replay value is the modding scene.
There are currently over 10,000 mods available for Fallout 4 on Bethesda’s site for Xbox One, most offering something unique and different. Whilst some will always stay hidden and never make it into the spotlight, there are some which are adored and used by many. That’s why in this post, we’re going to show you some mods that we think are the best choices to install for Fallout 4 on Xbox!
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch mod download
Installing this mod won’t actually make any too noticeable changes, however it does fix a lot of problems behind the scenes. Simply put, this mod fixes A LOT of bugs that currently exist in Fallout 4. Overall, it fixes over a hundred bugs related to Gameplay, Quests, NPC’s, Objects, Items, Text & Placements. Before starting a play through, you’re definitely going to want to install this mod to get most of the kinks sorted out. Gta amritsar game download for pc. Improved Map with Visible Roads
Improved Map with Visible Roads
The ‘Improved Map with Visible Roads’ mod changes how the map appears inside of your Pip-Boy. It completely overhauls the design, bringing a lot more stuff into focus such as the roads, train tracks, water lines and topography. This mod also fixes the placement of map markers and balances the brightness of the glowing sea. It’s a completely optional mod and really varies from person to person whether they think it’s necessary. I personally always use this mod to get a better sense of where I’m exploring in Fallout 4! Everyone’s Best Friend Dogmeat
Everyone’s Best Friend Dogmeat mod download
According to the developer of this mod, “there is a lot of evidence that Dogmeat is not a true ‘companion‘”, and that Dogmeat was supposed to be with you throughout the game no matter what. Although Bethesda must have changed their mind on this near the end of development if so. This mod will allow you to have Dogmeat with you at all times in Fallout 4, whilst also having any other companion of your choice. Allowing you to have some extra security, as well as much needed carry space. Dogmeat will feel more like a pet instead of a companion. Place Anywhere
Place anywhere mod download
The Place Anywhere mod for Fallout 4 does exactly what it says on the tin. It allows you to place items pretty much anywhere you want, completely ignoring the game rules when it comes to settlement building. Some features of this mod include placing objects in red zones, resizing objects, more precise movement & rotation, making objects static and many more snapping options. If you’re someone who cares about building and designing your settlements in Fallout, then this mod is a must have. Cheat Terminal
Cheat Terminal mod download
By default, there is no way to open the console on the Xbox One, making it hard to conduct any cheats or commands. Instead, one modder has taken it upon themselves to make cheating pretty easy using your pip-boy. The Cheat Terminal mod gives an interface where you can go into god mode, spawn infinite ammo, caps or almost any item you want. You can also teleport to locations around the Commonwealth and even change the weather. Even if you’re someone who doesn’t like to cheat, this mod could definitely come in handy at some point of your play-through. Full Dialogue Interface
Full Dialogue Interface mod download
One of the best things about previous Fallout games was the dialogue, knowing what you are actually going to say. When it came to Fallout 4, answers where replaced with small phrases, some just having the option of ‘Sarcastic’. This mod reverts the games dialogue system to the one we are all familiar with. Now you can see full previews of what you’re going to say in a similar vertical design to the previous games. In my opinion, this mod is a must have no matter what point of the game you’re currently at! Sim Settlements
Sim Settlements mod download
The Sim Settlements mod completely changes how Settlements work in Fallout 4. Instead of having to do everything yourself, you can set up zones in which your settlers will do all the work themselves. You can watch them build their own homes, farms and shops. It’s one of the most popular mods out there, and really enhances the settlement building aspect to the game. The developer has released quite a lot of expansions that work with this mod too. Spring in the Commonwealth
Spring in the Commonwealth mod download
The Commonwealth is a wasteland, with pretty much all plant life being dead. Rightfully so, as it’s part of the games lore, why would there be plants in a world annihilated by nuclear weapons? But this is Fallout, you can change anything you want! With the Spring in the Commonwealth, you can bring your world a little more alive by adding grass to the environment, along with some flowers. It doesn’t affect trees or bushes, so if you want that too, you’ll need to find other mods. Crossbows of the Commonwealth
Crossbows of the Commonwealth mod download
This mod adds a whole new weapon to the Commonwealth, the Crossbow. After installing this mod, you’ll mostly find enemy raiders carrying them around and using them as weapons. What makes this mod so great is how much customisation it has, whether you want to modify the bow itself or the ammo it uses (bolts). You can set enemies on fire, freeze them or even blow them up! It creates a whole new way to play the game, and I definitely recommend Xbox One players trying this mod out. True Storms Wasteland Edition
True Storms Wasteland Edition mod download
This mod is one of the best atmospheric mods out there, True Storms completely overhauls and revamps the weather system that is currently used in Fallout 4. It brings new sound effects for both interior and exterior, new particles, textures, fogs, dust storms and much more. This mod adds so much to the immersion factor and completely changes the environment and feel of the game. As well as changing all the current weather systems, it adds a few new ones such as hazardous rain where you will need to seek shelter indoors. Fallout 4 weapon and armour mods
Armorsmith Extended with Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource
This is your one-stop mod for all of your armour-related needs. Armorsmith Extended does the work of several mods, taking a holistic approach to improving your wardrobe. With it, every outfit in the game can have armour worn over it, and you can mix and match hats and masks, combining, say, a gas mask with a stetson. It also massively expands the armour mods system, as well as letting you mod all clothing items. This is on top of all the new craftable clobber that it adds. You’ll need to download AWKCR to make it compatible with other mods on this list.
Another huge mod collection, Weaponsmith Extended combines countless exotic weapons and features, including rocket-powered axes and The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Remember to take a look at the requirements though. It needs most of the DLC and a few other mods, including AWKCR, though you should have that already if you’re using Armorsmith Extended as well.
Instead of spending hours shopping (or killing and stealing) around for new guns and armour, why not craft them instead? This mod adds new crafting workbenches from which you can create whole weapons and armour pieces, rather than just customising pre-existing ones. You can craft everything from basic weapons to custom power armour, and lots of things inbetween. An ammo workbench is also available, where you can disassemble ammo and craft new bullets, fuel and cells.
Any Mod Any Weapon lets you become the Frankenstein of weapon crafters, designing ludicrous things like a minigun that can fire nukes or a shotgun with a suppressor. It’s not just guns, either. Stick a claw on a boxing glove if you want to. This is obviously not balanced and the weapons look absurd, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun.
Fallout 4 already has bullet time, thanks to VATS, but it comes with some notable restrictions. Like the fact that you can’t move. This mod lets you toggle bullet time seperately so you can retain control over your legs. You can also configure the time dilation, AP cost and visual effects.
Instead of waiting to be reunited with your terrible son, why not download Atom Bomb Baby and take him with you on your wasteland adventure? This replaces all the mini-nukes with little baby Shaun. Bond with your spawn by launching him into groups of Super Mutants. Watch, from a safe distance, as he makes his very first nuclear explosion. That feeling? That’s pride.
This is such a simple mod, but I can’t go on a post-apocalyptic wander without it. When you’re in first-person, Lowered Weapons, well, it lowers your weapon. It’s a little immersive touch that makes it look less like you’re constantly about to spray bullets and hot laser death everywhere.
Visible Weapons and Just Visible Holstered Weapons
Another great immersion mod, Visible Weapons gives you an in-game configuration tool that lets you select any weapon in your inventory and it will display it on your back or hip when you’re not holding it. To make it work you’ll also need mods that turn weapons into clothing items. Just Visible Holstered Weapons will give you access to most vanilla weapons and Armorsmith Extended adds a few more.
With Legendary Modification, you can start creating your very own legendary weapons by crafting powerful mods and applying them to your guns and melee murder tools. It works the same way as making and applying normal mods at the workbench. You’ll still need to scavenge materials for them though.
This one’s for the pack rats. If you’re constantly overloading yourself because you can’t leave the house without 10 guns, or because your pockets are always full of junk, craft yourself some backpacks and pouches. It’s a great, practical mod, but it also makes you look more like a post-apocalyptic survivalist.
I started using this in my last game and it’s quickly become one of my favourite mods. From the cybernetics workbench, you can craft several different types of cybernetic armour that can be worn over outfits. Since it’s armour rather than clothing, it’s modular, so you can deck yourself out in a full suit of armour or just give yourself powerful cybernetic legs or robot hands. Each piece of armour is highly customisable, so you can give yourself superhuman strength or stamina, or you can turn yourself into a stealthy cyborg ninja. You can tweak the appearance, too, with paints and patterns.
If you’re going to become a cyborg, you might as well become one that can fly. Microsoft office 2019 download. The Cross Jetpack introduces an animated, customisable jetpack that can be worn with other armours. It comes in three flavours, giving you a speed boost, letting you fly or combining the two. You can alter the appearance with various paint jobs, and if you’re using it with the cybernetics mod, it can match the appearance of your robo-armour.
Craftable Armor Size adds light, medium and heavy mods to the workbench. So if you’ve got some light armour that you’d like to beef up, you can add heavy mods to each piece. Alternatively, if you want to lighten your load and sneak around, you can downgrade heavy armour, making it lighter.
Sometimes you want the safety that armour can provide but don’t want to be too showy. Or maybe you’ve downloaded Armorsmith Extended and you’ve noticed that, since armour pieces weren’t originally designed to go over outfits, there’s a lot of clipping. Concealed Armors gives you the option to change the visibility of armour from the workbench, at no cost. You can make all of it invisible, or just specific parts. You can even traipse around in your birthday suit, fully-armoured.
Fallout 4’s weapon and armour mod descriptions are a bit on the vague side, giving you only a broad idea of how the mod in question will change your gun’s recoil or power armour’s ability to withstand energy damage. Better Mod Descriptions gives you the actual numbers, so you know exactly what you’re getting when you augment your gear.
The Xbox one mods for Fallout 4 keep on rolling in, and 2018 has already given us some good ones. Here are the best Fallout 4 Xbox one mods of the year so far.
Sanctuary EstatesBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
It’s time to take a look at the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods, many of which are the best Fallout 4 mods of the year, period.
That being said, if you’re looking for something more general, we’ve got best Fallout 4 mods posts for all platforms every month, such as June, July, August 2018.
Well, it finally happened. The hipsters have somehow managed to even gentrify the apocalypse itself.
We had a nice little community once – it was a little rough around the edges, but you just kept your wits about you, always looked both ways before crossing the street, and only talked to certain trees.
But now Sanctuary Estates has popped up, and survivalists can live in the lap of luxury, complete with your choice of mood lighting. Still no place to get good Seitan, but give it enough time, they’ll make it happen.
Power Armor Voiced Operating System – VanessaBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
If Tony Stark has taught us anything, it’s that the best armor is the kind that can talk to you. He also taught us that being incredibly rich is awesome, and people will like you even if you kind of happen to be a tool.
With this mod, you can become your own version of Iron Man (just a less awesome, poverty-stricken one with massive college debt) and command suits of power armor with alluring vocals.
Beatles RadioBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Ah, for the days when music was pure melodic brilliance. Sure, we also wouldn’t mind the days when nuclear war hadn’t completely annihilated humanity, but we’ll take what we can get.
One of the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods, this will treat your ears to some of the finest Beatles tracks you could hope for, often giving a hilariously offbeat juxtaposition between the peaceful music and on-screen horrors.
Now if only we could have a mod where Ringo Starr narrated the entire game.
Military ClutterBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Nothing says rugged survivalist like crates and crates of heavy artillery. Military clutter is one of the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods as it adds all kinds of stockpiled goodies in-game, including weapon racks, ammo shelves and all other kinds of things that go boom.
The best advice we can give is not to explore the contents with an open flame to light the way. No need to qualify for the Darwin awards.
Age of AirshipsBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Something a little different from all of the outfit-related mods available is certainly a welcome change of pace, but nonetheless certainly one the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods.
A meticulously crafted selection of vehicles for your edification, including reconstructions of historical airships. With such an exquisite selection of dirigibles available, you’ll feel like you’re on cloud nine!
The current version of the game is having some compatibility issues, so there is, unfortunately, a chance that using this mod at the moment will cause your game to crash. Oh, the humanity!
Institute Expeditionary SuitBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Eh, what’s this? A wardrobe mod that dresses characters sensibly? Must be some kind of glitch, we can probably expect a g-string to be patched in soon.
In all seriousness, the IEX suit is one of the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods. It is incredibly detailed, wonderfully designed and just generally badass to romp around in.
There are a few different colors and variations at your disposal, too, should you want your hazard suit to match your mood on any given day.
Ruger Mk VBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
One of the finest pistols you can acquire is now faithfully recreated in Fallout 4. This mod adds the Ruger Mk V in a few different variations, and even has neat little additional touches, like being able to change the holo sight into different shapes.
There’s a certain poetic justice to taking things out while targeting with a lucky clover.
If you’re something of a gun enthusiast, it’s worth looking through the developer notes for this particular mod, as it shows exactly the amount of effort that has gone into making this weapon as true to life as possible.
If you don’t know anything about guns, it still sounds impressive, at least.
Militarized MinutemenBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Yes, the clean green aesthetic of the Minutemen, a visually appealing uniform that your character will be oh so snuggly in.
This mod gives you over a dozen modular military-themed clothing items based on the various factions you see in-game, allowing you to feel super sergeanty and other such shoehorned examples of alliteration.
One user did report a glitch where using this mod caused all of the Minutemen in game to spawn naked, and if the laws of alchemy are to be believed, that’s fair enough.
Those clothes had to come from somewhere, you know?
Backpacks of the CommonwealthBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Backpacks of the Commonwealth sure is a catchy name for a mod. It also sounds like it could be the title of a W.E.B. Griffin novel or an obscure B-track from one of Queen’s later albums.
As you may expect, in the actual context, it adds a variety of backpacks to your game, each with their own individual stats.
The most obvious benefit for these is that you will be able to carry your things in there, but beyond that, they happen to look very nice, too. It may chafe a little if you try to lug them around while dressed in one of the skimpy outfit mods on offer, but such is the price of vanity.
Sandbag FortificationsBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
We’re trying to survive here, dammit, and you’re telling me this game doesn’t already have sandbags? Lunacy!
They’re crucial for strengthening your buildings, weighing down electrical equipment in a pinch, and they’re also nice for cuddling and telling all of your secrets to.
Always eager to impress, this gives you non-sandbag related defenses, like watchtowers and barbed wire barricades.
All of these are excellent for hunkering down and setting up shop, but not so good for cuddling, nor telling your secrets to (watchtowers are notorious gossips).
Simple SeasonsBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Next, to other open world games such as The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 can look pretty drab. It’s supposed to, of course, being a post-apocalyptic wasteland and all, but that doesn’t mean you’re any less likely to get sick of the same dreary color palette after 100 hours of gameplay.
Enter Simple Seasons, which makes Boston and the surrounding area a whole lot more vibrant-looking.
There are four options to install, though you can choose to add however man you want according to what mode you’re in: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
Build Anything InteriorsBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
A handy mod for those enamored with Fallout 4’s building system.
Build Anything in Interiors does exactly what it says on the tin: you can now place any exterior building part within an interior of a building. Download here.
Marked for TerminationBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Some of the Synths from the Fallout series have always given us a bit of a Terminator vibe, but this mod actually adds Arnie-looking “Gen 5” Synths to the game.
The Terminators arrive when you reach level 10, and they’ll hunt you down across the Commonwealth. Don’t try and take it on, since they’re extremely tough and virtually indestructible.
The idea is to add a bit of tension. It’s a game of cat and mouse.
The Terminator only traverses the map at walking speed unless you aggro him, so it’s pretty easy to outmaneuver. Still, it has a habit of turning up at the most inopportune moments.
Modern WeaponsBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Weapon mods are a dime a dozen but modder DoUevenCHIMbro has an entire arsenal of weapon skins that he/she has created for the game, and they’re all excellent.
The one we’ve pictured above is a G36, but there’s everything from Steyr Augs to M1 Garands on his mod page.
If you’re after the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods for weapons, this is your man.
Settlement Tidy BotBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
If there’s one thing that spoils the look of your nice tidy settlement, it’s a stack of dead bodies laying on the floor after you’ve been attacked.
Well, now you don’t have to worry, because the Settlement Tidy Bot’s sole purpose is to float around tidying up those unsightly corpses. Magic! You can download it here.
Immersive Chemstation OverhaulBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
An update to SpaceGoats’s “Craftable Components” mod, the overhaul to the Chemstation is now its own fully fledged mod.
It better organizes the sorting function of the Chemstation with new keywords, and there are also new drug recipes and batch creations for basic healing remedies such as Sim-packs, Radaway, Jets, and more.
The recipes for mines and frags are also changed to make them easier to craft, and they can be dismantled for components.
1897 WinchesterBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Certainly one of the best Fallout 4 Xbox One mods, this add a 1897 Winchester pump-action shotgun to Fallout 4, and it’s getting rave reviews.
Rather than sticking realism, the mod includes a silencer, bayonet, and 3 scope options.
There are four different ammo types, too. The gun is brought to life with custom animations, so it’s more than just a skin job.
Prometheus ModBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Yes, not everybody hated Prometheus, and those that didn’t will surely appreciate this.
The Prometheus mod adds the weapons and outfits from the movie to the game. Specifically:
“To be found next to the Vault 111 entrance. There are some blue containers to the right of the entrance. You can find the Prometheus weapons and armors in between.”
![]() Post WarwickBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
Adds a massive 16 story building called the Warwick Distribution Centre to the Commonwealth.
The building is fully powered, so you can gut it out, clean it up, and turn it into a massive settlement.
It makes for a good location to install Institute furnishings.
New Comics PackBest Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods 2018
This Comic Pack mod adds 15 new comic books to well-known locations in the Commonwealth.
All of them have new custom textures and will add perks.
Sadly, there aren’t any hints available on where exactly they’re actually located, but that’s half the fun, right?
That does it for our list of the best Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods of 2018 so far! Have you been enjoying any that we’ve missed? Let us know down below.

Looking for graphics mods, UI mods, weapon mods or settlement mods? We’ve gathered a list of the best Fallout 4 mods for PS4, PC and Xbox one with Download Link.
1. Full Dialogue Interface
Sometimes your character something you completely did not intend. This is because of Fallout 4’s paraphrased dialogue system, which only gives you a rough idea of what each dialogue option is saying instead of the full line. To avoid any confusion, and just to be crystal clear what you’re saying, The Full Dialogue Interface mod brings the game back to the Fallout 3 way of doing things. A very nice mod for players who found the inaccurate dialogue trees to be occasionally baffling.

2. Everyone’s Best Friend (Dogmeat + Companion At Same Time)
Dogmeat is everyone’s favorite nuclear wasteland dog. Obviously. We didn’t need to clarify that, but as a companion he can be a little underwhelming, particularly in combat. This mod allows you to have an extra companion following you and keep Dogmeat by your side. He has his benefits, but he sucks in combat. This mod allows you to keep those benefits without missing out on some helpful combat aid.

3. Stronger Dogmeat
Alternatively, you could just make Dogmeat stronger in combat. This mod does exactly that. Dogmeat will no longer put out a meager 1-2 dps to your foes, he will now do 58 dps. Now there’s a Good Boy.

4. SimpleSeasons
Although Fallout 4 is a more vibrant game than 3, there’s no doubt that after dozens of hours in the wasteland you may start to get tired of all the greys and browns. SimpleSeasons brings some life back post-apocalypse Boston. This mod will turn the wasteland into a snow-coated landscape, a lush and green beauty, a Summer blend of orange and yellow leaves, or an autumnal array of leaves about to fall off their trees. Be sure to download the four versions of this mod, each reflecting the four seasons, to experience the wonderful variety this mod has to offer.

5. Any Mod Any Weapon
Fallout 4 limits what you can do to change and improve your weapons. Not all mods will fit on all weapons, which does make a certain degree of sense, right? This mod throws logic out of the window in the pursuit of chaos. Ever wanted to shove a Deathclaw’s hand into a boxing glove, or create a pistol that can fire cannon balls? Then this is the mod for you. Go nuts, and see what crazy new weapons you can create with this truly sandbox mod.

6. MGS Aiming
A neat little mod that allows will switch to first-person when you aim-down-sights and switch back when you stop, just like Metal Gear Solid. A cool mod for players who like to switch perspectives frequently.

7. Intimidation Overhaul
Intimidating is a fun thing to do, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that, right? Point your gun at someone and make them do your bidding. Good stuff. But it’s also pretty limited in Fallout 4. This mod adds a number of new things you can do with intimidation, such as shaking them down, putting them in handcuffs, or making them run away. A nice mod that makes intimidation a bit more interesting.
8. Improved Map with Visible Roads
A neat little quality-of-life mod that adds roads to the map to help you get about a bit easier. If you prefer to stick to the roads, this mod is for you.

9. True Storms
The True Storms mod adds a bit of chaos to the wasteland and makes it feel more like a nuclear wasteland rather than just a regular old apocalypse-stricken world. This mod adds radioactive rain, heavy fog, heavier rain, dust storms, and more.

10. Take Cover
This mod overhauls the third-person combat by adding a cover system like Mass Effect or Gears of War. It lets you take cover, lean out and snap back to cover, and even vault over low obstacles. It helps to make the third-person combat feel more dynamic and less static. A cool little mod.

11. Beast Master
Add a little Pokemon to your Fallout with this beast-capturing mod. Not only does this mod allow you to capture beasts and use them as companions, it also lets you customize them and dress them in armor, put trackers on them so you don’t lose them, manage their happiness by feeding them treats, and more. There’s plenty of powerful creatures in the wasteland, why not use them to your advantage?

12. Alternative Start
Tired of the same old start? Played Fallout 4 several times and looking for a different and quicker way to start the game? Alternative Start allows you to start as someone other than the Vault Dweller. Start as a citizen of Good neighbour, a raider or merc for hire, a passenger aboard a sinking ship, a member of the Church of Atom, and more.

13. OCDecorator
This neat little quality-of-life mod makes it easier to place objects onto other objects, making it much easier to decorate your settlements and keep things looking nice and tidy. A must-have if you’re into the building stuff in this game.

14. Lowered Weapons
It may not bother everyone, but personally, I always found it a little weird when your character talks to people with his/her gun pointed at them always felt unnecessarily menacing. This mod gives you the option to lower your weapon and quit being such a jerk.

15. Legendary Modifications
This mod allows you to expand your weapon modding to the next level and create something truly powerful. Create and attach an attribute from legendary weapons or armour to any weapon you want. Some of these attributes are pretty strong so experiment away and see just how powerful you can make that hunting rifle!

By Mark Medina
For decades, mods have granted PC gamers the freedom to tweak, change, and improve their experiences. Bethesda games in particular, with their massive worlds and wide breadth of things to do and see, are ripe for the modding.
From simple bug-fixes to a mod that changes all Deathclaws into killer Thomas the Tank Engines, almost anything you’d want (or didn’t know you’d want) in a game like Fallout 4 exists.
This particular list of Fallout 4 mods is a bit more grounded, focusing on making the Commonwealth even more beautiful without altering gameplay. You can even download some of these mods for Fallout 4 on Xbox One.
Here are IGN’s top 10 visual mods for Fallout 4.
10. Power Armor HUD by Hellstorm102
While we love stomping around in Fallout 4’s Power Armor, its flimsy-feeling, transparent HUD leaves a lot to be desired. The Power Armor HUD by Hellstorm102 replaces these default elements with a solid, weightier control panel. It might obscure your view a little, but in a giant, hulking suit of armor, that’s sort of the point.
You also have the ability to change the look of the new HUD, so whether you like a cleaner interface or something a tad more weathered, your options are open.
Download it on NexusMods. Also available on Xbox One. Find out how to install it with our Xbox One mod guide for Fallout 4.
9. Realistic Word Map by Vastias
The Realistic World Map mod by Vastias takes Fallout 4’s muddled old vanilla map and replaces it with a much more detailed version, featuring roads, bodies of water, and land masses. You can also adjust the map’s brightness and choose what gets displayed. Little details like these make Realistic World Map a must-have for any Wasteland adventurers who like to plan ahead.

8. Lowered Weapons by Lesma666
Ever since Wolfenstein and Doom, we’ve always wondered why first-person shooters force your character to run around with their weapon constantly pointed out in front of them. It makes sense when you’re shooting, but if you’re trying to conduct peaceful business in a settlement, having your gun raised and ready to fire is a little awkward.
The Lowered Weapons mod by Lesma666 finally fixes this. Having your gun lowered outside combat zones feels way more natural and makes visiting towns and other peaceful camps a lot more immersive.
Download it on NexusMods.
7. Pip-Boy Shadows by McGruffin
Pip-Boy Shadows by McGruffin adds dynamic shadows to the inhabitants and objects of the Commonwealth. More realistic shadows are certainly a plus on their own, but because this mod is most noticeable in the dark, it pairs spectacularly well with the next mod on our list.
Download it on NexusMods. Also available on Xbox One. Find out how to install it with our Xbox One mod guide for Fallout 4.
6. Darker Nights by unforbidable
Have you ever been to the mountains at night? Since the world of Fallout 4 is only sparsely populated with settlements, sporting crude campfires and low-voltage electricity, it gets pretty dark out there at night. But not dark enough.
Darker Nights by unforbidable is a must-have. When the sun goes down on the Commonwealth, this mod makes sure it really feels like night-time. It also comes with an option that lets you adjust how well enemies and NPCs can see you in the dark, making stealth missions much more interesting.
Download it on NexusMods. Also available on Xbox One. Find out how to install it with our Xbox One mod guide for Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 Must Have Mods5. Resurrection by ResurrectionDev
Even Fallout 4 purists can make room for Resurrection by ResurrectionDev. It gives all landmarks and environmental objects, from rocks to roads and even buildings, an overgrown look that is really a sight to see.
If you have a PC capable of running this mod, there’s no reason not to give the Commonwealth the revival it deserves.

4. Mega Explosions by Meltus
One of the best parts of Fallout 4 is making things go boom. But what if you could make the booms even boomier? That’s where Mega Explosions by Meltus comes in. Not only are the explosion sizes from your Fatman, Grenades, and Mines all doubled, but the damage is increased as well. It’s a great way to add awesome new action elements to some of your more explosive battles. If you don’t want the actual game altered in any way, you can also just turn on the bigger explosion textures, and keep damage the same.

3. Water Enhanced by Jmane2009
While Fallout 4’s water looks good, Water Enhanced by Jmane2009 is a great way to make the bodies of water in the Commonwealth look even better. Lakes become clearer, light reflects off ocean waves more believably, and streams ripple with a beautiful glisten. With this mod installed, stumbling upon any body of water is really a treat.

2. True Storms by fadingsignal
True Storms by fadingsignal takes the vanilla weather effects of Fallout 4 and cranks them up to 11. Running in a thick fog that you can barely see through is awesome and dust storms emphasize just how desolate the Commonwealth has become. This mod also causes special weather events to occur more frequently, making things like rad storms a serious threat to players.

1. Fallout 4 Seasons Project by GameDuchess
Fallout 4 is a vast and immersive experience, but in a world where literally years of in-game time can fly by, one crucial element of reality remains absent: the four seasons. So it’s no surprise that our favorite graphics mod for Fallout 4 is the Seasons Project by GameDuchess. From the bright and vibrant colors of spring, to the desolate silence of winter, the Seasons Project lets you bring your favorite time of year to the Commonwealth. The seasons don’t change automatically, but with variations for all four, this mod is definitely worth checking out.
